First Game, First Victory

The Purple Pride Marching Band kicked off the 2026 football season with a night full of excitement, celebration, and plenty of Purple Pride!

Our first game of the season brought Laney High School and the Academy of Richmond County High School together, and the Purple Pride was ready to make its presence known. From the stands to the field, our students played exceptionally well, earning compliments throughout the evening and showing just how much work they have already put into this season.

There was a lot to celebrate! This was our first performance at a football game this season, our first field show, and an especially exciting milestone as the Purple Pride returned to the field with a Drum Major for the first time in six years. And to make an already memorable night even sweeter, ARC brought home the win!

Our field show went beautifully, and the students had an absolute blast performing, cheering on their classmates, and enjoying the energy of game night. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it was wonderful to see them having fun while representing ARC with pride.

This first game gave us a glimpse of what lies ahead for the Purple Pride Marching Band. If this is how we're starting the season, we can't wait to see where the music takes us next.

Congratulations to our band students, our band director, our staff, our coaches, and the ARC football team on a fantastic night. Purple Pride is back on the field, and we're just getting started!
